Maria Linsao, LMFT

Hello, my name is Maria Linsao.

My way of practice is integral, bringing together modalities such as depth/Jungian, attachment, narrative, CBT and family systems theories, in combination with the pragmatic and wisdom teachings of Zen Buddhism. In essence, we are “wounded healers” interwoven in our pains and joys, with an inherent need to want to feel purposeful, appreciated and loved.
I graduated with an MA in integral counseling psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, in San Francisco. I practiced as a trainee therapist at Pierce Integral Counseling center, and as an associate therapist for two years at the James Whitney clinic of the Jung Institute, both located in San Francisco.  I worked as a school counselor at a charter high school in East Oakland for two years.  
An interesting fact about me; I lived and practiced at all three centers of the San Francisco Zen Center–Green Gulch, City Center and Tassajara—for 14 years, having ordained as a Zen Buddhist priest in 2010.
I am happy to be part of the San Mateo Child and Family Counseling Center practice community.
