Lara L. Montoya is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #124095). She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Notre Dame DeNamur University. She also received a certification in Forensic and Correctional Counseling from Palo Alto University. Lara has extensive experience working with elementary, middle school, and high school youth in school-based, community, and agency settings. She has helped youth manage and work through challenges such as anxiety, ADHD, trauma, depression, divorce, and parent-child relationships. She has also worked with adults, couples, and families to gain an understanding, insight, and clarity on parent-child attachment, family systems, and phases of life transitions. She approaches her work with cultural humility and has a passion for providing services to underserved and marginalized populations. Lara engages her clients by utilizing client-centered, solution-focused, and strength-based interventions through play, humor, and art with a psychodynamic lens.
