Jesenia Rivera-Palacios is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) #13277. She earned a Bachelor in Women and Gender Studies at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and a Master of Art in Counseling, with School Counselor and Child Welfare credential from Loyola Marymount University (LMU). Jesenia has experience working with children, adolescents and young adults in clinical community-clinics and school settings for over 5 years. She has also worked with the Neurodivergent population and supporting multicultural families. Jesenia provides a safe, non-judgmental space with an unconditional positive regard to address the client’s needs. Through clinical theoretical frameworks, which include but are not limited to client-centered therapy, strength-based and family systems focused. Utilizing interventions from multiple evidenced-based practices in solution-focused brief therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, mindfulness-based methods, motivational interviewing strategies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and psychodynamic approach.
When Jesenia is not at the counseling center, you can catch her spending time in nature, with family in Los Angeles, enjoying stand up comedy shows or music concerts! Her interests include sports, trying new eateries and exploring North Cal!
